Day 4 Bogota

Woke up early and went for a walk around to get some breaky. We found a cute little cafe and started with a coffee and orange juice but we should have brushed up on our Spanish a bit as we ended up with coffee and orange cake. Obviously being too awkward to say anything and not knowing how to say anything, we ate the cake, drank our coffee and went to go find somewhere else to eat. We decided to catch a taxi to the old part of the city where the buildings are so beautiful and colourful. Had another coffee and a snack then saw this huge square with an amazing cathedral. There were thousands of pigeons and lots of people selling pigeon food which is a bit of a tourist attraction apparently? Who'd have thought. Then a policeman came up and started speaking Spanish which was slightly nerve racking but then he asked us in English where we're from and told us we should go to the police museum as it's very interesting and gave us directions so we decided to go there and it was interesting. The tour guide is a police officer but they do different shifts where some days the policeman police the city and other days give tours. He was very interested in Australia and was very entertaining. Then we had some lunch which was amazing as it was a traditional Colombian dish with chorizo, beans, egg, pork grind, mince and much more. Then we walked about 12km around town which wrecked us so we got some refreshments which fixed us. We then went to dinner at a restaurant called Andres which was 5 levels and the top level was a night club. Met up with a local that Shane knew and she helped us with our lack of Spanish ordering and things and tried to teach us how to dance but gave up on us. Another big night of getting home at 3am. Will have to have an early night soon I'm sure.
